  • The daughter of the late model-actress Anna Nicole Smith said she wanted the look to evoke Interview With the Vampire.

Dannielynn Birkhead is switching up her style.

The daughter of Anna Nicole Smith and Larry Birkhead debuted a short platinum haircut with black tips at the Barnstable Brown Gala in Louisville, Ky., on Friday, the night before the Kentucky Derby.

"I feel like a vampire, which is the goal every day," shetoldAccess Hollywood on Friday. "That's like my life's goal, is to look like a vampire every day."

When asked which kind of vampire, she replied, "LikeInterview with the Vampire, modern-ish."

Birkhead alsotold PEOPLEthat comparisons to her late mother "always make me feel good, because I love my mom."

However, she clarified that she doesn't want to be defined by her parents. "She's super pretty, and I like being compared to her in the sense of like, 'Oh, I'm pretty too.' But I also like being known as my own person," she told PEOPLE. "Because it's always like, 'Anna Nicole Smith's daughter,' and never just Dannielynn. So I'm hoping my look right now will kind of help with that in a way."

Birkhead expressed similar sentiments to Access Hollywood. "I just want people to know that I love my mom, and she's so beautiful, but I'm also my own person, obviously," she said. "And I hope that's a bit more clear now."

She also explained how her new 'do reflects what she's learned about herself and her worldview since beginning college. "I learned to just be myself and not let anything stop me," she said. "Someone's like, 'Hey you actually can't do your hair like that.' Who cares! I'm doing it. I'm not gonna let someone dictate what I wanna do or who I wanna be, because life is short, and I think you should be who you wanna be, no matter what."

Birkhead added, "I probably feel the most confident and happy and like myself I've ever felt right now."

Birkhead's father, Larry Birkhead, discussedhis daughter's new look in an interview with PEOPLE. "This year is a different style for Dannielynn," he said. "People [are] always looking for her to wear something of her mom. And she's done that a couple times, but this is kind of Dannielynn showing off her own sense of style, and she said it's a goth rock theme."

Larry also noted that his daughter selected his rhinestone-studded lightning bolt jacket for the event. "She said I needed to up my fashion game," he said"That I had no sense of style. And so she was determined to pick my outfit out."

Lourd has been vocal about missing Fisher and the actress' legacy. She recently spoke about showing her children Fisher as Princess Leia andhow emotional it made her.

“A year ago, I showed them[Return of the] Jedifor the first time, and they were a little bit confused,” Lourd toldE! Newsin December. “They're like, ‘Wait, that's my grandma?’ Like, ‘No, that's Princess Leia, your grandma's Carrie, but that's Princess Leia.’ And they were just so enthralled. I sat behind them and cried while they watched it.”

Lourd added, “It's like the ultimate high-budget home movie. For me to get to have those things and to get to show them my mom in those movies is so special.”

Lourd also revealed who her children's favoriteStar Warscharacter is. Spoiler: they're "obsessed" with Princess Leia. “I have some of these dolls that I don't want to take out of the box. I have a Leia shelf at my house, and they're like, ‘Why can't we take them out of the box?’ I'm like, ‘No. You'll understand later, but like, it has to stay in the box,’" she said.

"So sometimes I’ll have to buy two and have one that they're allowed to play with.”

InDecember, on the ninth anniversary of Fisher's death, Lourd posted about her bittersweet feelings as her mother "lives on" through the "joy" of her children. "Watching my dad with my kids is one of the greatest joys I’ve ever known. The kind of joy that makes your face hurt because you can’t stop smiling,"she wrote in parton Instagram.

"Then I started thinking about how this joy wouldn’t be possible without my mom. This joy only exists because she existed. So even though she is not physically part of this joy, she is part of the reason for it. Even though she is not alive she lives on through this joy," added Lourd.

She concluded her tribute with something Fisher told her that continues to resonate. "As my mom wisely said, 'Nothing is ever really over. Just over there,'" Lourd said. "My mombys life isnt really over. Just over there — in my kids and in this joy I’m able to experience because of her. Thank you momby. I will never stop missing you."

Humanoid robot steals the spotlight ahead of Met Gala 2026

An AgiBot robot at the Met Gala 2026 surprised photographers and onlookers. It was invited as a guest of designer Alexander Wang at the fashion event. The humanoid figure came out of New York’s The Mark Hotel, where A-list celebrities stay or get ready before the gala. However, before stepping outside, it got trapped inside the elevator.

A video, shared by PEOPLE, featured the robot appearing as soon as the lift’s door opened. Photographers seemed to be waiting for it outside the elevator. One of the female camerapersons was heard saying, “Come on,” to the machine. But the robot got stuck as it took a slight left turn. The bodyguards soon came to its aid and helped it to safely get out of the closed space.

Seeing the situation, the woman photographer/videographer could be heard laughing and saying, “He’s trapped. He needs assistance.” But when the robot posed for the cameras, the paparazzi seemed excited. Another person asked it to “give us a pose,” and the humanoid robot obliged.

Furthermore,InStylealso released a video of the robot from outside the luxury hotel. Like any other celebrity, the Met Gala droid walked towards different directions and posed for the photographers.

Meanwhile, the paparazzi also seemed to be having fun while interacting with the new guest. One of them asked, “Robot, are you ok?” Another praised, “I see you shining there.”
