The third episode ofEuphoriaseason 3, titled "The Ballad of Paladin," brings the majority of the cast into the same room once again for Cassie and Nate's nuptials.

In the weeks leading up to the event, Cassie had been determined to get her dream wedding, from convincing her fiancé to spend $50,000 on flowers to reconnecting with her ex-best friend, Maddy (Alexa Demie).

But it wouldn't be a reunion of East Highland High School alums — including Rue (Zendaya) and Jules (Hunter Schafer) — without some drama. The celebration quickly spirals into chaos as shocking revelations surface and unexpected guests arrive, threatening to ruin Cassie's vision of the perfect day.

Here's everything to know about what happens during Nate and Cassie's wedding in the third episode ofEuphoriaseason 3.

Warning: Spoilers ahead forEuphoriaseason 3 episode 3.

At the start of the episode, a flashback gives viewers more insight into how Jules became a sugar baby.

With some encouragement from her art school roommate Vivian, Jules goes on a date with a lawyer who has "severe intimacy issues" and a kink for nylons.

When he pays her for her time, she soon realizes that going on two dates a month with him will cover her rent, leading her to trade in her life as an art student for one as a sugar baby.

Jules goes on several more dates with older men, including a married plastic surgeon named Ellis who "[slices] women open for a living."

Ultimately, Jules leaves art school, takes on Ellis as her sole client and earns far more than she ever imagined.

A lot goes down at Cassie and Nate's dream wedding-turned-nightmare. Soon after saying "I do," their big day is interrupted by the arrival of an uninvited guest, Naz (Jack Topalian), who threatens to become Nate's "worst f---ing nightmare."

Naz’s revelation that Nate owes him money sends Cassie spiraling out of fear of being poor. As she proceeds to have a meltdown, she accidentally launches a cork right into her groom's face.

After a very public fight in front of their friends and family, the not-so-happy couple leave their wedding hand-in-hand and head into a limousine, where Nate apologizes for turning the "most beautiful day" of Cassie's life into a mess and vows to "make love" to her when they arrive home.

Why does Naz attack Nate?

At the wedding, Naz tells Nate he is in debt to him for over half a million dollars following a failed development project.

To that end, Nate's extravagant wedding infuriates Naz, who thinks Nate has the ability to pay him back but is holding out on him.

Just when Nate and Cassie seem to be turning their wedding night around, the newlyweds arrive home to Naz and his sidekick waiting for them in their home.

Nate asks Naz to talk, but it's not long before Naz's guy begins beating him up.

Cassie begins to sob, not so much because her husband is being thrown around their home, but because she is bleeding on her wedding night. "It was supposed to be the best day of my life," she cries.

Nate promises to pay Naz back, but things escalate further when Naz tells Nate that his "honeymoon's over" and proceeds to cut his pinky toe off.

What is going on with Alamo and Laurie?

Rue's old and new employers have been in an ongoing feud ever since she delivered drugs from Laurie (Martha Kelly) to Alamo (Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje) that were laced with fentanyl.

During the wedding, Rue receives a call from Alamo telling her that she needs to leave to visit Laurie and her crew, a ploy to get some continued revenge.

Laurie and her group think that she is being sent for the meeting to pick up drugs, and view it as an opportunity to get her back — or kidnap her.

In reality, Alamo has set the meeting up as a way to get his fixer Bishop (Darrell Britt-Gibson) inside to poison Laurie's favorite among her birds, a white cockatoo named Paladin.

While Rue and Bishop are successful in their bird-murder plot, things turn south when Rue is pulled over on her drive home.

But, it's not a police officer doing an ordinary traffic stop — it's a Drug Enforcement Administration agent looking specifically for Rue.

FCC orders Disney to file for early license renewal after Kimmel clash

Kimmel-Trump clash continues as FCC launches early review of ABC's broadcast licenses 02:06

CBS News CBS News

The Federal Communications Commission has directed Walt Disney Co. to file early license renewal applications for its ABC television stations, citing an ongoing investigation, a day after President Trump called on the company tofire comedian Jimmy Kimmel.

The FCC said in its order that it is investigating ABC stations for "possible violations" of the Communications Act of 1934 and the agency's prohibition on unlawful discrimination. An FCC official told CBS News that the order is related to the agency's investigation into Disney's diversity, equity and inclusion practices, which the official said has been ongoing since March 2025.

In a statement to CBS News, Disney said it has received the FCC's order for an accelerated review of its ABC-owned television stations.

"ABC and its stations have a long record of operating in full compliance with FCC rules and serving their local communities with trusted news, emergency information, and public‑interest programming," a Disney spokesperson said. "We are confident that the record demonstrates our continued qualifications as licensees under the Communications Act and the First Amendment and are prepared to show that through the appropriate legal channels."

The ABC licenses were originally scheduled for renewal between 2028 and 2031. The companyownseight TV stations, including WABC-TV in New York and KABC-TV in Los Angeles.

Trump calls for Kimmel firing

The FCC order comes after President Trump and Melania Trump urged ABC tofire Kimmelafter he made a joke during his April 23 show in which he described the first lady as having "the glow of an expectant widow." In the program, Kimmel pretended to deliver a comedy routine at the upcoming White House Correspondents' Dinner. His program aired two days before the event.

In the aftermath of the dinner, in which an alleged gunman shot aSecret Service agentat the Washington, D.C., ballroom where the Trumps had gathered, the first lady said that ABC should "take a stand" against Kimmel.

"Wow, Jimmy Kimmel, who is in no way funny as attested to by his terrible Television Ratings, made a statement on his Show that is really shocking," Mr. Trumpwrotein an April 27 post on social media. "I appreciate that so many people are incensed by Kimmel's despicable call to violence, and normally would not be responsive to anything that he said but, this is something far beyond the pale."

He added, "Jimmy Kimmel should be immediately fired by Disney and ABC."

Kimmel defended his joke during hisMonday night monologue, describing the routine as centering on the Trumps' 23-year age difference. The routine was "a very light roast joke about the fact that he's almost 80 and she's younger than I am. It was not by any stretch of the definition a call to assassination. And they know that," Kimmel said.

Trump, who turns 80 in June, is the oldest U.S. president to take office. His wife, a former model who was born in Slovenia, is 56.

Kimmel also defended his First Amendment rights, saying, "Donald Trump is allowed to say whatever he wants to say, as are you and as am I, as are all of us, because under the First Amendment, we have as Americans the right to free speech."

Festering feud

The issue marks the second clash between the FCC and Disney within the last year, with ABC preempting "Jimmy Kimmel Live" in September after criticism of comments Kimmel made on his late-night TV show followingthe shooting deathof conservative activist Charlie Kirk.

At the time, FCC Chairman Brendan Carrreferred toKimmel's comments as "some of the sickest conduct possible," and said there was a "path forward for suspension over this."

The FCC doesn't have the authority to cancel broadcasters' licenses "because of their perceived political views," Jameel Jaffer, executive director at the Knight First Amendment Institute at Columbia University, said in an email to CBS News.
